Discovery is far off the mark, especially for a company which seeks to be the future of film, television and streaming.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The new name of the WarnerMedia-Discovery combined company was introduced Tuesday as \u201cWarner Bros. Discovery\u201d along with an \u201cinitial wordmark.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>David Zaslav, Discovery chief, introduced the new name and the logo as he held a town hall with WarnerMedia employees from Burbank, California.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWarner Bros Discovery will aspire to be the most innovative, exciting and fun place to tell stories in the world \u2013 that is what the company will be about,\u201d Zaslav said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new logo is a combination of a gold 3D art along with the tagline, \u201cThe stuff that dreams are made of.\u201d The kind of gold art seen in the logo can easily be created using Microsoft\u2019s WordArt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Experts and designers are of the opinion that the new logo of Warner Bros. Discovery is far off the mark, especially for a company which seeks to be the future of film, television and streaming. According to Discovery, however, the logo is only an \u201cinitial wordmark\u201d which was created for the announcement of the company name to the employees.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The social media slammed the new logo with some even comparing it with the designs made using \u201cfree clipart CD with windows 95.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Here&#39;s the new logo for Warner Bros. According to Discovery, the tagline is \u201can additional homage to the rich legacy of Warner Bros. and the focus of what the proposed company will be about.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John Oliver, British-American comedian, actor and television host, mocked the new visual identity and the slogan in his show <em>Last Week Tonight<\/em> along with addressing his new corporate parent as \u201cBusiness Daddy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHi there, new Business Daddy,\u201d he said. \u201cJust checking in says I absolutely love the <a href=\"https:\/\/designbro.com\/blog\/inspiration\/corporate-logo-design-importance\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"8915\">corporate logo<\/a> you dropped. It looks like the opening title of the Simpsons if the fonts were not found.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2018The stuff that dreams are made of\u2019 is a quote from The Maltese Falcon about how the thing that seemed like a process treasure was actually worthless garbage that brought chaos and despair to everyone around it. Anyway good luck with the merger, I\u2019m sure everything\u2019s gonna go great,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While all the humiliation surrounding the new logo might not do permanent damage to Warner Bros. Discovery\u2019s image, they would have done well to create an official new visual identity by 2022 \u2013 the year when the two media giant\u2019s merger will be complete.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Experts and designers are of the opinion that the new logo of Warner Bros.
