Well, Chip Kidd is an author of one of the most recognizable <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">logos<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the 1990s &#8211; the famous, striking-red <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">design<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of a skeleton of a dinosaur, a memorable <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">graphic<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, placed not only both on the book jack and poster, but even in the movie itself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chip Kidd is\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">best<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> known for his innovative book jacket <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">designs<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. His recent creation &#8216;Go: A Kidd\u2019s Guide to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Graphic<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Design<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8216; is the first book ever created to teach\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">graphic<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">design<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to children. For this, he received the National <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Design<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Award for Communications.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6510\" src=\"https:\/\/designbro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/image8-9.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"982\" height=\"740\" data-wp-pid=\"6510\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2.Rob Janoff\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before turning 25, Rob Janoff designed the Apple <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">logo<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in 1977. Apparently, he believes that he only drew a few silhouettes of apples to create iconic Apple logo. With a \u2018bite\u2019 on a fruit, he admits that it was rather a happy no-brainer coincidence than a brainstorm mastery. This \u2018bite\u2019 significantly added personality to the logo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6516\" src=\"https:\/\/designbro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/image2-18.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"486\" data-wp-pid=\"6516\">The <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">brand<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8216;s friendly approach was needed at that time since computers may have seemed scary to buyers at first. He works on <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">graphic<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">design<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, printed advertisements, and television commercials.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>3.Peter Saville\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Peter Saville, born in 1955,\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">works<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on record sleeves, covers, and packages. Check out his <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">work<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">s for Joy Division,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> New <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Order, Unknown Pleasures, Transmission, Blue Monday, and Factory Records. You will notice that he was adamantly influenced by neoclassicism and architectural postmodernism.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6514\" src=\"https:\/\/designbro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/image4-9.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"533\" height=\"533\" data-wp-pid=\"6514\">Graphic<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> designer&#8217;s competency is one thing. Brilliant, ephemeral <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">art,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and eye for detail is another. This English art director and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">graphic<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> designer has it all. He collaborated with fashion <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">brands<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> like Jil Sander, Burberry and Stella McCartney. He also <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">worked<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">creative<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> director for the city of Manchester, and in 2010, he designed the English football team\u2019s home kit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>4.Michael Bierut\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Partnering with &#8216;Pentagram&#8217;, a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">design<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> agency that <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">works<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for Benetton, the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> York Jets, Walt Disney, and Billboard magazine for 27 years, this is an incredible achievement to have. He is also a senior critic in <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">graphic<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">design<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at the Yale School of <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Art<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and is the author of a book called &#8216;How to&#8217; (2015). Bierut believes that in any\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">graphic<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> design job, it&#8217;s important to focus on the subject matter and the inspiration it brings to the table\u00a0 rather than Photoshop effects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>5.Massimo Vignelli\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Massimo Vignelli was in the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">business <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for a pretty long time. He passed away after half a century of <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">work<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for powerful <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">brands<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> like IBM, Ford, Bloomingdale\u2019s, Saks, American Airlines and many more. He even designed the subway map and signage for New York City.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6509\" src=\"https:\/\/designbro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/image9-8.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"500\" data-wp-pid=\"6509\">During his life, Massimo Vignelli was well-known as a teacher which significantly prolongs his living legacy. His prot\u00e9g\u00e9s include Micheal Bierut, and although he did not <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">work<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> long on the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">web<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u00a0 he managed to influence many of its aesthetics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>6.Carolyn Davidson\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The famous &#8216;swoosh&#8217; <a title=\"logo design\" href=\"https:\/\/designbro.com\/logo-design\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">logo design<\/a>\u00a0was designed by her. It&#8217;s hard to find anyone who wouldn\u2019t be able to recognize Nike&#8217;s iconic <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">logo<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">logo<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> embodies Nike&#8217;s Greek goddess&#8217; wing and is supposed to refer to movement. Despite its simplicity, the \u2018swoosh\u2019 was not easy to come up with. It took many tries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6515\" src=\"https:\/\/designbro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/image3-15.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"432\" data-wp-pid=\"6515\">Interestingly, despite her efforts, Carolyn Davidson didn&#8217;t actually earn a fortune for the design she created. At that time, she was still a student at Portland State University. Therefore, she ended up taking the simplest charge for the bid. A few years later, she was given in return, a large amount of Nike\u2019s shoes by the founder of the brand, Phil Knight. In 2000, Carolyn Davidson retired from her career as a<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> graphic<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> designer.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li><b> Lindon Leader\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Who would have guessed that this elderly man is the creator of the FedEx <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">logo<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">? One that has been applied to 600 aircrafts and 30,000 ground vehicles ever since? Did you\u00a0 know that before settling on a shortlist, Lindon Leader prepared about 200 different versions of the logo? This logo is a true statement piece. It\u2019s clever and definitely not just the aftermath of a lucky design.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6508\" src=\"https:\/\/designbro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/image10-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1999\" height=\"574\" data-wp-pid=\"6508\">While working at Landor Associates, Lindon Leader <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">created<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> many high-profile branding projects alongside companies like Hawaiian Airlines, Cigna Insurance, and Banco Baresco. However, for FedEx, he utilized negative space in a way that has never been done before for a huge global company. This is what makes him one of the names you have to remember as a graphic designer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>8.Max Miedinger\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the world&#8217;s most-used typefaces, Helvetica, was created by him. How fascinating! Max Meidinger became a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">graphic<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> designer in 1930 and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">worked<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at Haas Type Foundry in Switzerland. At that time, its director, Eduard Hoffmann, wanted Meidinger to beat the company\u2019s rival, Akzidenz-Grotesk, which was run by H Berthold. After months, his <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">best<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">work <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0was produced and has been heavily used in the business world ever since. Helvetica has been used in various marketing materials. This includes the brand logos of American Airlines and BMW.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6507\" src=\"https:\/\/designbro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/image11-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" data-wp-pid=\"6507\">9.Susan Kare\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Susan Kare is an artist and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">graphic<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> designer who was born in 1954. During the 1980s, she worked at the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">creative<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> director at Apple. Kare created a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">design<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> called &#8216;Geneva&#8217;, which is a neo-grotesque, sans-serif font that is quite similar to Helvetica. This was the typeface that Facebook turned to once it resigned from Helvetica in 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6506\" src=\"https:\/\/designbro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/geneva-graphic-logo.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"512\" data-wp-pid=\"6506\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moreover, her work also includes the creation of iconic fonts like Chicago and Monaco, which has been used by Apple for many of their Macintosh\u2019s interface elements. For example, the original icons and interface elements on macOS were <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">created<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by Susan Kare &#8211; the trash can, the happy and sad Mac icon, the Command key icon. Currently, her portfolio includes icons that she designed for Facebook, Microsoft, Wired and many more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>10.Paul Rand\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This blue <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">logo<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> can\u2019t be missed out. The bold and confident IBM <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">logo<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is one of <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">marketing\u2019s<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">best<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> choices. It was designed by Paul Rand (actually, Paul Rosenbaum), an American <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">art<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> director and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">graphic<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> designer born in 1914. It was also his privilege to create NeXT, which if you did not know, was Steve Jobs\u2019 post-Apple venture. Rand sadly passed away in 1996.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6513\" src=\"https:\/\/designbro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/image5-15.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1999\" height=\"909\" data-wp-pid=\"6513\">11.Milton Glaser\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Did he actually love New York as much as he claimed? In fact, his <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">marketing<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">esign<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">s for Bob Dylan, DC Comics and The Brooklyn Brewery were those that brought him recognition as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Glaser is someone who truly values consequence and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">business<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> empathy towards his clients&#8217; needs. He was the author of the &#8216;Glaser Stencil&#8217; font but also a movie-protagonist in the documentary &#8216;Milton Glaser: To Inform and Delight.&#8217; (2008).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>12.David Carson<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">David Carson, the most influential <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">graphic<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> designer of the 1990s is known for his preference for grunge typography. Today, the monograph is considered to be a designer\u2019s bible.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>13.Paula Scher\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Last but not least, Paula Scher is another <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">graphic<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> designer after Michael Bierut who has been honored to partner up with &#8216;Pentagram&#8217; agency. The <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">web<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> describes her as the most influential female <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">graphic<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> designer alive.
