From the oceans to the land, the unimaginable damage inflicted by plastic waste is beginning to send shivers down the spine of scientists and environmentalists. While governments and major companies of the world are working together to achieve a sustainable world, the efforts have to be accelerated at least three times their current speed.
Earth Day is an annual event where brands and various agencies demonstrate their support for different environmental issues. The global beauty brand, L’Oréal, showed its support for Earth Day by launching a limited-edition packaging design of their Color Last Shampoo & Conditioner brand, Biolage.
L’Oréal teamed up with the London-based graphic artist, Bárbara Malagoli, to create a compelling packaging design for Biolage. The packaging celebrates Mother Earth by depicting a dreamy scene on the packaging label.
“For the new packaging, they utilized hybrid bottles made of 100% recycled cardboard and plastic. This packaging is shower-safe and uses 40% less plastic compared to their standard Biolage bottles, with a vegan and Paraben free formula that’s better for your hair and the environment. They utilized an outer shell made of paper to protect the thinner plastic bottle, allowing them to use even less plastic than their typical bottles of shampoo and conditioner.”
