Max Powers Legal
Solo law firm. Max Powers is just a name, obviously, but I think of it as a character, someone who can offer top notch help for anyone. A legal superhero for hire. It's a premium brand, but I'm hoping to be accessible as well. Saul Goodman, but less garish (and criminal). Since it's a solo firm, clients pretty much hire me, so short bio: I started off doing graphic design, then fell into contract drafting for a multinational corporation, found I enjoyed the work, and went to law school (and yes, Oxford comma club). Before that I was in a few bands as a rock singer, so I always knew I wanted to incorporate something "cool" in my practice. So during law school, I started a tequila company with a friend of mine and we won a gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. That introduced me to the world of alcohol production and distribution law. After my internship (where I learned a lot, including immigration law), I went solo and got a few gigs more in alcohol, but also in music, film, and gambling law. Cool stuff. Because life, I had to take a government job for a while and it ended up being in immigration. So I became more knowledgeable and am going back solo. Practice areas for now include: immigration law, music law, criminal law, interprovincial litigation.
