Hollywood studio Paramount, on a virtual event Tuesday, revealed the release of the seventh installment of the popular Transformer film series along with the title and the logo.
Aptly titled Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, the new Transformers film franchise will now work on the popular 1990s ‘Beast Wars’ storyline. Along with sharing the new title, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and director Steven Caple Jr. also shared the new look of the film.
The Autobot insignia appears right in the middle of the title in shades of grey. The combination of orange and yellow gives the logo a fiery touch.
Apart from the new logo, the film will feature new villains and a new storyline.
“We wanted to give the audience a lot of new things. We have exhausted I would say the battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons. How do we find a new set of villains and priorities, saving the world is left to the Autobots and in this case the Maximals,” said producer Bonaventura. “Part of the new news, if you’ve seen the other movies, you’re going to see villains you’ve never seen before and a lot of elements we’ve never done before.”
Set in 1994, the new film’s focus is not to intersect with the five Transformers movies directed by Michael Bay. A similar approach was maintained during the making of Travis Knight’s 2018 film ‘Bumblebee.’
According to Director Steven Caple Jr, fans can expect something that has never been seen before. He said, “We wanted to expand the universe, you have the Autobots and the Decepticons, and I would say my new flair for this is the Terrorcons. The Terrorcons are a new threat to Optimus Prime, and it’s something I pride myself on when entering the franchise.”
Caple Jr. also revealed that portions of the film will be shot in the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu—the lost city of the Incas— located in Peru.
“It will be difficult to shoot there. But we’ll get there,” he said.
According to actor Anthony Ramos, there aren’t many details regarding the film at the moment, but updates will be available as soon as the productions begin. Ramos will be playing an important role in the film.
The production team of Transformers took to their official Twitter handle to share the title and the logo of the film. They tweeted, “The battle on Earth is no longer just between Autobots and Decepticons. Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons join Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, in theatres June 24, 2022.”
