Call of Duty 2021 Name And Logo Leak: Vanguard Or Slipstream?

Reportedly, the name and the logo changes were first noticed on Battle.net: the official platform that hosts the Call of Duty games.

Call of Duty will be out with a new game this year. As expected, name and logo leaks of the 2021 version of the game are doing the rounds.

First noticed by a gaming fan, the potential leak could suggest the name and the logo. According to credible sources, a big announcement was on the cards before the leak was made public.

Reportedly, the name and the logo changes were first noticed on Battle.net: the official platform that hosts the Call of Duty games. According to sources familiar with the matter, the Call of Duty 2021 leak is more credible than other gaming revelations, which need to be taken with a grain of salt.

Well-known leaker and gaming enthusiast, Tom Henderson, who made several revelations around the EA Play Live Event, updated his Twitter handle recently with the following message: “Call of Duty 2021 has been updated on Battle.net as Call of Duty: Slipstream with the attached logo. Looks very WW 2 to me.”

According to the leak, the game could be called Call of Duty 2021: Slipstream. Battle.net changed the thumbnail to Slipstream, leading gaming fans to believe that it contained the official name and logo of the 2021 edition of the game.

The wordmark features Slipstream written in bold with a grey background. The logo also features six horizontal lines, three on either side of the wordmark. The lines symbolize military ranks and weapons.

Set in the backdrop of World War Ⅱ, gaming fans believed that the game would be called Call of Duty Vanguard; however, with the Battle.net update, all speculations about the name and the logo have ended.

Mentioning Battle.net in their article, App Trigger wrote, “They were previously referring to the new Call of Duty as Call of Duty 2021, but now all of a sudden they have since been referring to the new game as Call of Duty: Slipstream. Slipstream is definitely an interesting name and if that turns out to be true it would be the first Call of Duty with a name of that sort.”

The following video by Chaos explains the Slipstream leak.

As per marketing specialists, the name and the logo leak could be intentional and part of a viral marketing strategy. Some also believe that Slipstream could be a new publishing partner of Activision – the publisher of the Call of Duty video game franchise.
