It’s confirmed. Michael Keaton will return as Batman in Andy Muschietti’s upcoming film The Flash. After a lot of speculations, the actor’s talent agency, ICM partners, confirmed his return as the caped crusader.
According to a report by Deadline last month, the Oscar-winning actor said that he was “fortunate and blessed.”
“So, that’s my first thing about all projects. I look at it and go, is this thing going to kill me, literally? And you know, if it doesn’t, then we talk,” he said.
Keaton was hesitant about taking up the role due to the Covid-19 situation, but the actor has now announced his comeback to reprise his role as Batman. The actor had previously played the role in Tim Burton’s Dark Knight.
Muschietti took to Instagram to share the film’s logo. The logo shows multiple lightning flashes which leads one to imagine that the superheroes may enter parallel dimensions in the film.
Ezra Miller will be seen portraying the central character of Flash, who can move at lightning speed and vibrate at the molecular level, in the film. Michael Keaton will join him as an older version of Batman from an alternative universe. Ben Affleck will be seen as Batman, the protector of Gotham city and the leader of the Justice League.
Known for her role in Young and Restless, Sasha Calle will be introduced in the film as Supergirl.
“Can I freak out for a second?” she asked Muschietti when he informed her that she was being cast.
“I’m probably not going to stop crying all day.” She further added.
One Facebook user commented, “Sasha Calle is an amazing actress! The team at DC chose wisely! Can’t wait to see her as Supergirl on the big screen!!!”
Calle will be the first Latina to play the part.
