Futura, the new logo, received over 75 percent of the votes to become the face of the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games 2026
Designed by the branding agency Landor Associates, the emblem features an angular line drawing of the number 26 reflecting the year the games will be held – 2026. The logo expresses solidarity and sustainability, according to Sari Essayah, the International Olympic Committee’s coordination commission chair of the games.
Speaking about the new logo Essayah said, “Congratulations to Milano Cortina 2026 on its new emblem. Influenced by the themes of sport, solidarity and sustainability, ‘Futura’ illustrates a dynamic and modern design that reflects some of the fundamental values of its Olympic and the Paralympic Winter Games.”
Speaking about the emblem Essayah continued, “Milano Cortina 2026’s strategy for a people-centric Games builds on the belief that we are stronger together – evident in its engagement of the wider public in its decision-making process. Its determination to make Italy fall in love with games and the world to fall in love with Italy has been evident throughout this global initiative. We’re certain that this affection will continue to grow over the next five years, inspired by this unique emblem design.”
The angular design of the logo is characterized by a continuous silver line that crosses over itself to form the number “26”. Silver, in the Olympic emblem, portrays snow, peace and harmony while adding the element of youthful energy.
The Paralympic Games logo uses the same emblem except the silver is replaced by green, red and blue associated with International Paralympics. The green, red and blue in the logo are also associated with the Aurora Borealis, a rare natural phenomenon that occurs above Dolomites mountain range.
“The vivid use of the colors of the Paralympic Agitos (Symbol) makes this an emblem that truly represents and is accessible to everyone across the Paralympic movement,” IPC President Andrew Parsons said. “I also love the fact that this emblem reflects the natural wonder of Italy, which is important given the strong legacy of sustainability that is central to these games.” During an online event hosted by Giovanni Malagò, President of CONI and Milano Cortina 2026, and Vincenzo Novari, CEO of Milano Cortina 2026, the winning emblem was revealed.
